let's start at the beginning
The Good Things may have started in the pages of my journal, but it's always been a part of a bigger dream. It was founded on the hopes that what I create can serve a bigger purpose. I wanted to create something that would allow me to have the opportunity do good in this world, even if it's my tiny piece of it. The Good Things as a whole will serve as an umbrella of a variety of products and things that directly give back to the community. My first product will be candles, but so much more is to come!
When I first began making candles, it was in a kitchen (still is!) using a double boiler, with little direction or experience. I knew that there were a lot of candles out there, but I wanted mine to be different, to be something memorable. I originally chose beeswax for the fact that it was yellow and I have a connection to bees because of my Grandmama. Beeswax naturally is meant to purify the air, and is considered to be one of the best waxes due to it being non toxic. I then learned that that adding coconut wax to beeswax could strengthen the scent. Together, it means it is safe for babies and pets.
Each candle is created with the hope that it can add something good to your chosen space. My hope is that maybe one of my candles can be the first one you light in your new apartment, for a day with your friends and family, or maybe during a much needed and much deserved night in. My hope is for you to smell these candles and feel good, that you close your eyes and take a deep breath and feel this wave of calm. Some candles are inspired by a memory I'd love to share or a special person in my life. Some candles were inspired by organizations special to my heart. Most importantly, all of the good candles, are created for even greater people, just like you.
if you've read this far, thank you because sometimes I tend to ramble. Thank you for your support whether it be purchasing a candle, sharing a post, or telling a friend. Never forget, you're a great human if nobody has told you today!
LOVE ALWAYS, ANISA MONÉT (:
